Do Manufacturers Think We're Idiots? It appears so. These idiotic, completely stupid instructions appear on real consumer goods. A reader
found this on the Clorox disinfecting wipes container: Not to be used
as a baby wipe or for personal cleansing On a baby stroller: Remove child before folding stroller On a hair dryer: Do not use while sleeping. On a bar of soap: Use like regular soap. On a frozen dinner: Serving suggestion - defrost. On a hotel provided shower cap: Fits one head. On a dessert: Do not turn upside down. (This was printed on the bottom of the box.) On a package of bread pudding: Product will be hot after heating. On children's cough medicine: Do not drive car or operate machinery. On a sleeping aid: Warning - may cause drowsiness. On a kitchen knife: Warning - keep out of children. On a string of Christmas lights: For indoor or outdoor use only. On a bag of peanuts: Warning - contains nuts. On an airline packet of nuts: Open packet, eat nuts. In an automobile owner's manual: Warning: Do not shift into reverse while driving forward. Courtesy of Ann Landers, The St. Petersburg Times, February 14, 1999. Thanks Ann! And one of my favorites ... You know those little silica packets that come inside of some products? "Do not eat". Shees .... Do the Cracker Jacks people put "Do Not Eat" on the prize packets? Here's from lizard25 ... Igot this scooter, and there was a warning label on it that said, "warning: product moves when used." uhhh.... what's a scooter used for again??? Good one Liz ... We got a new stove recently. The user's manual actually says "Caution - may get hot". No kidding. Seen anything like this? Tell us! webmaster@americaworks.net Dave A tells us: "I once read on the instructions for folding up a stroller "step 1: remove baby" no kidding!"
